Didn’t you LOVE the first day of school? Everything was new! New clothes, new shoes, a new book bag, new pencils, pens and other school supplies.

For many people, this simply isn’t the case. This year, because of lay-offs, company closing and other various financial problems, many parents are wondering how in the world they are going to give their child the proper school supplies they need to start the 2009-2010 school year off with confidence. THEY NEED YOUR HELP! We can pull together and make a difference for 1,000 children!

$10,000 is sitting here – waiting to be matched!  Easily allowing you to have a part in giving a wonderful start to this school year for 1,000 children! YOU – yes you can.  Any gift of any size will be doubled! Even if you say, things are really tight and we only have $10.00  – it is the same as if you gave $20.00. Here’s how…

The Apple Foundation has graciously awarded Spreading Joy Corporation with a $10,000 matching grant!  This is very exciting – especially as we are working toward purchasing enough book bags filled with 16 different school items to give to 1,000 children.

This means that for every dollar you donate – the Apple Foundation will match it up to  $10,000!

If you donate $50.00 – that is turned into $100.00.

If you donate $100.00 – that is turned into $200.00!

EVEN BETTER – If you work at a company that matches your charitable contributions, then your donation goes even further!

For Instance: You work at Starbucks and they match charitable contributions up to $1,000. You donate $50.00 and Starbucks matches it – and instantly (with a little bit of paperwork from your HR Department) it is $100.00! (Exciting isn’t it???) BUT – I’m not done yet – then the Apple Foundation matches it and POOF it is $200.00!  Your $50.00 is magically $200.00….and you thought you didn’t have much to give.  How wonderful!

Even if you can’t give financially right now, you can make a huge difference by emailing a link to this page to everyone in your address book. Will you write a blog article highlighting this event and encouraging your readers to make a difference?  Will you tweet this event to your followers?  You have such a voice – you can make a difference!  You never know who will be able to take advantage of this match and make a donation.

Do you own/run a store that has school supplies? Maybe you could send us a donation of any of the following school supplies – rulers, packs of pencils, glue sticks, boxes of crayons, packs of paper, pencil sharpener, pocket folders, packs of pens – or the most expensive thing – the BOOK BAG!
